Mended Hearts is a national organization affiliated with the American Heart Association.

Springfield's Mad River Mended Hearts Chapter 342 meets at 7:00 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month September through June. The meetings are held in the Education Center of the Springfield Regional Medical Center. (This building sits between the hospital and the School of Nursing with the ground level entrance facing Burnett Road.) Park in Lot 7 for easy access to the Education Center. All heart disease patients, family members and caregivers are welcome to attend.

Mended Hearts support groups, comprised of heart patients and their families, help people understand there can be a rich, rewarding life after heart disease. Members listen, share their experiences, learn from healthcare professionals and volunteer to talk to other heart patients about lifestyle changes, depression, recovery and treatment.
